GANJAU THATCH : The highlight of my time in Shangarh was the day I spent trekking to Ganjau Thatch – an alpine meadow that took about one and a half hours to ascend, with a slightly shorter descent. One can hike at a leisurely pace, soaking in the breathtaking scenery at every step and turn, while also capturing memories through photos and videos.
In Sainj Valley, a relatively undiscovered region of Himachal Pradesh, is located approximately 35 kilometers east of Aut within the same GHNP ecozone as Gushiani in Tirthan Valley. Kullu is situated about 30 kilometers north of Aut.
This trek is relatively straightforward, featuring short stretches of rocky paths and uphill inclines. It’s worth noting that there are no amenities such as homestays, homes, or shops along the way from Ganjau Thatch to Shangarh.
