Established in 1984, the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) stands as India’s youngest national park, nestled in the Kullu district within the state of Himachal Pradesh. Encompassing an expansive area of 1,171 square kilometers, the park spans altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 meters above sea level.
During winter, the entire region transforms under a blanket of snow, altering the ambiance dramatically. Despite the challenges posed by snowfall, the lush green surroundings host a variety of wildlife, complemented by the influence of the nearby Great Himalayan National Park, boasting rich flora and fauna, including around 35 bird species.

Camping enthusiasts can revel in the magic of Thini Top, especially under the full moonlight when the entire area illuminates, revealing the snow-capped Himalayan peaks in the backdrop. The night sky offers a celestial spectacle with thousands of stars, galaxies, and occasional shooting stars.

Itinerary of thini top trek
Day-1
On the Arrival in Shanghar first thing you do is to check in to local homestay or any hotel. you find many homestay in shanghar village. After that you can do a guided acclimatization hike to barshanghar waterfall and visit shanghar meadow & shangchul mahadev temple. Witness the stunning sunset from the meadow before returning to the homestay/hotel.
Day-2
You can start you trek from shanghar village toward to ganjhau thatch. we advice you to leaving leaving excess luggage to your hotel. Hike through the dense pine forest above Shanghar, observing the Himalayan wildlife amid mild snow. Trek for 3-4 hours to reach the picturesque meadow known as Ganjhau. You can stay here for overnight stay and enjoy bonfire surrounded by snow, under a canopy of a million stars. Or you can continue your journey towards Thini Top.
Day – 3
Initiate the trek towards Thini thatch, navigating through dense snow arrive at Thini meadow, situated at 10,000 feet ASL, following a challenging 4-5 hour ascent through heavy snow revel in the breathtaking 360-degree views of the high Himalayan ranges.

The closest airport to the trek’s starting point, Shanghar, is Kullu Manali Airport in Bhuntar, situated approximately 55 kilometers away. Alternatively, travelers can opt to fly into busier airports like Chandigarh or Delhi and then proceed to the trek starting point by road.
By Train :-
The closest railway station to the trek starting point, Shanghar, is Jogindernagar, situated approximately 85 kilometers away. For larger railway stations, Ambala and Chandigarh are the nearest options.
By Bus:-
Travelers can select any bus heading towards Manali and alight at Aut, which is approximately 35 kilometers away from the trek starting point, Shanghar.
